Today we participated in the full day kayaking tour to Ao Thalan. We were picked up at 9am and arrived at the docks by 9:30am to get sorted into kayak groups. There we kicked back with some morning coffee as the guides organized the kayaks, paddles, lifejackets, and basic instructions to the group. After we got set into groups and met our guides we got started.

Full Day Ao Thalan Kayaking Tour – the monkeys would swim to the boats and take the water bottles from the tourists. It was something funny to watch.

Full Day Ao Thalan Kayaking Tour – The lunch they provided us after the kayaking. Chicken drumsticks, potato, mixed veggies and breaded fish.

Full Day Ao Thalan Kayaking Tour – The sink had a drain pipe, but it wasn’t connected to the sink. No floor drain made for a sloppy washroom floor.

A forest of Hevea Brasiliensis Trees named “Green Rubber Factory”. The sap drips into pails at the bottom of the tree and over a couple of hours it hardens into a white rubber substance. They pick up these hard balls and take them to town to sell to rubber factories.

A forest of Hevea Brasiliensis Trees named “Green Rubber Factory”, even the roots leak the white liquid rubber when poked (we did not poke it)
It was a good kayak experience and the different tree groves were something new (I had never seen a rubber tree before). More kayaking to come here tomorrow in a different spot.
