The best thing to do in Ubud is to visit the Monkey Forest! This is a protected conservatory for the Balinese Long Tail Monkey. This site has a population of approximately 600 monkeys. The following pictures capture this amazing experience.

The city streets beside the site walls are filled with curious monkeys that steal from wandering tourists and have no fear in sitting right on the road so traffic has to steer around them.

The walking path in the park is well maintained and constantly swept clean by the staff.

The monkeys sleep right on the path. You step around them and they don’t even stir.

This guy was pretty curious about us!

This character figured out how to bite through the food bag and chew on the corn through the bars. Smart!

The park had an area fenced off for Timor Deer. These deer are native to South East Asia, specifically to the dry sun dappled forest and open savanna or grassland.

It was a very cool experience and well worth the trip to Ubud. This was one of the best experiences in Indonesia thus far.
