– SEPTEMBER 08, 2015
The cell phone alarm clock woke us up at 3:30am to have breakfast and get dresses for the 4am departure to the airfield. There were multiple hot air balloons waiting for six van loads of customers eager to see the Luxor sunrise from high in the air. Getting up early isn’t a problem, as we have been adjusting our schedule as needed for the sights and adventures over the past 7 months.

What a view!

Some of the balloons are touching down, our balloon was the final one to call it a day.

The views are amazing from up here.

Coming down our captain had to get us towards the fields.

If we landed in a field then any damaged crops would get the farmer compensated by the hot air balloon company. The farmers were in their fields and they were begging the balloons to land on their crops…seriously!
The experience was pretty great and the sunrise was incredible. The days after our ride had the mornings filled with smoke, thus cancelling the hot air balloon rides for the next 3 days. Once again we had good weather for our planned activities. This has been a nice trend throughout this adventure.
